No Hot Water in the House?

Give Your Water Heater Enough Time

The most common reason for running out of hot water is simply that the water heater store is depleted. If you find yourself suddenly standing under a chilly downpour in the shower, no need to panic, just give it a few minutes and allow more water to heat. When your water heater uses a tank, it may require additional time to heat a new store of water. If you prefer to have an endless supply of hot water, you may want to consider upgrading to a tankless water heater!

Check on Your Pilot Light

If you use gas to power your water heater, your pilot light could have simply gone out. If you do confirm that the pilot light is out, you will need to relight it to get the hot water flowing again. First, switch off the regulator and allow it to settle for a few minutes. Once you have done that, you can switch it back to pilot. If you need to manually light it, be sure to use a long stem lighter as you hold on the pilot burner. If it has a self-ignition, hold the button and switch the regulator on.

Inspect Your Breaker

If your hot water supply is suddenly cut off with seemingly no explanation, it could be because a breaker has been tripped. In order to remedy this, simply locate your breaker box and make sure that all the breakers are uniform. Once you flip the tripped breaker back over, give your water heart some time heat, you can then test your water to see if this did the trick.
